Bill Clarke, MD
CEO, Cellectar
Dr. Clarke is CEO of Cellectar, a biotechnology company developing pharmaceuticals for cancer diagnosis and treatment. Dr Clarke is also the Chairman of the Board of Caden Biosciences, which develops novel technology for understanding the pharmacology of G-protein coupled receptors, and he is a Board member of VisualSonics, which develops high frequency ultrasound equipment for imaging in the research setting.
Prior to joining Cellectar, Dr. Clarke served as the Executive Vice President, Chief Technology Officer and Chief Medical Officer of GE Healthcare, where he oversaw the medical and clinical strategy and policy for GE Healthcare worldwide. Dr. Clarke was the Executive Vice President, Global Research & Development, of Amersham Health, a world leader in diagnostic imaging pharmaceutical and radiopharmaceutical development. He also spent three years at Glaxo Wellcome U.K. as Director of Biological Sciences. Dr. Clarke has held a number of academic positions, most recently as Associate Professor at the Departments of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Washington, School of Medicine.
Dr. Clarke holds an AB in Chemistry, an MSc in Physiology and Pharmacology, and an MD from Duke University. His post-graduate education was at the University of Washington, the University of Pennsylvania and the Stockholm School of Economics. Dr. Clarke is board certified in Pediatrics, Anaesthesiology, Paediatric Critical Care and Adult Critical Care.
